Dammit!

Yesterday I felt kinda bad, had a sore throat and a cough... Today I feel awful. I couldn't sleep hardly at all last night because I kept coughing and every time I swallowed the pain in my throat woke me up... But I missed so many days back in February from being sick, and I can't afford to miss work nor go to the doctor right now (a couple ( Read more... )

These symptoms sound to me like the same ones my brothers and I had whenever we had strep throat; sadly, the only thing to be done for it is to wait it out, unless you're willing to resort to antibiotics (which honestly are best left for when they're needed since they lose effectiveness the more they're used). I just hope this only takes you a few days to get over; my brothers and mom have had to take a full week in the past.

I seem to be feeling somewhat better this morning, so hopefully that means it's not strep throat as that would be very inconvenient.

Yeah, I did my best to just keep telling myself 'I can do this, it's just 6 and a half more hours' etc, but... The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak, so they say. I should've said goodbye, but I was in kind've a zoned-out haze.

I don't think I'm running a fever today, so that's a step up at least. The only thing that really worries me is how many sick days I've already taken this year... I was sick twice in February, and they haven't said anything to me about it yet, but... It really bugs me.

Thanks for the well-wishes!

I know how you feel, man. My mother and grandmother's mantras are "If you're breathing, you can still work", so I've had to deal with that. I called in sick to work yesterday, and it really killed me to do it, but I decided in the end I just had to take a break. Better to return to work reasonably well to catch up on things than falter while sick, infect others, and then go on as things gradually get worse from lack of rest and treatment. Good luck to you.

Well, if I hadn't been sick so much in Feb I would've called in sick without hesitation... I'm all about not working while sick--I just don't wanna risk even slightly losing my job over it...
