Something I was thinking about today at work

One thing I really wish, is that I could always be as smart as I sometimes am. Because when I'm really on, I feel like a god. I can see with a glance how to do most everything--see the best strategies instantly, know all the answers before the questions even finished, absorb information effortlessly, read opponents like books, etc... I've had similar thoughts. On the one hand, it does make those successes much more enjoyable. Still, great successes like that -- particularly involving self-realization and your own bountiful intelligence -- are things you want to seize hold of and continue.

I'm at a loss. I would like to say, derived from my own experience and similar thoughts, that it's good to stay humble due to having only a few great moments like that. However, I also think that if we were self-realized like that all the time, we would be able to reach even greater heights of exploration, discussion and success. And that is something worth working towards.

(I agree. It is a lovely feeling though.) I have read the phases of being on referred to as 'flow.' I have experienced the same and it feels like the most natural state of being without needing any active intervention from my consciousness. I think it can be triggered with some effort through focus or concentration. It often manifests when I am in the process of making something. All of my energy is on the task at hand and everything becomes straightforward and intentions are clear. It might be easier at first to practice in controlled scenarios than force improvisation in the real world.
