The thing is, the democratic process doesn't work. It has never worked. By this, I don't mean that it's objectively completely unworkable, of course--but that relatively speaking, compared to other possible governmental forms, it's pretty bad. No. 4 might be the most closely tied. I know more than a few people down here whose main support for the 2nd Amendment comes directly from that argument.

Also, I may have asked you this before... Are you saying that democracy should be done away with, and another form of government put in its place? I agree with you on rejecting the notion that "other government forms are necessarily archaic," though. I can understand if your argument is to simply give other governments a chance, while kicking democracy off its high horse.

I have to agree with your assessment that the democratic process doesn't work. The reasons for this seem only to eat, fuck and multiply.
