tell ur dad that hes in my thoughts this veterans day.

i'm the same way girl. i do not support this war, but i support the troops. i know people in the military. brian is one and another is a husband of a friend on open diary who will be shipped out to iraq in february. though he volunteered for it, i still worry about him for her and their son. i feel the same way girl. i support our troops, not the war. i never have understood war and doubt i ever will. unlike you, i cannot be drafted even if i sign up. document asthmatic and bipolar. by the way, since u are asthmatic, i doubt they'll send you.

Holly that was by far the best "update" to read. Your feelings and emotions are just as important as events in your life. And with the understanding I'm empathizing on most of what you are saying I was fortunate that my father never fought in the big wars. I remember when Uncle Bo went over for the war, I remember talking about him in class. I was then and I am now incredibly proud to have him, and subsequently you, as part of my family. And whether this makes you feel better or not the last thing I heard about the draft was President Bush said he was not going to be sending that to the floor. He has no intention of reinstating it. But we shall see. And like you, if drafted I will go. Aside from pain, death doesn't scare me, I'll see everyone again soon. I can't wait till I see you again, I love you Hollis!

this is the first time i've read this (finally had time). it literally gave me chills. i'm sorry that you and your family had to go through that. please thank your daddy for me too :) i am grateful for people like him who risk their lives to protect so MANY others. my dad was in the navy, but not during a time of war, and most of his life was spent as a police officer. i have great appreciation for the military/service feilds.

love ya girl!
