Yes people, I am in heaven.  The Championships Wimbledon have started.  I'm bloody excited!

So I spent most of this past weekend doing a whole lot of nothing...thus why I was in a somewhat harried state when I had to grade a set of exams yesterday afternoon to return them to my algebra class last night.  The exams were OK...an average of 74.  That's not horrendous, especially in a class of students that traditionally has not done well in ( Read more... )

Two of my favorite things in the entire world came together one fateful night in Fresno, CA.  The Fresno Grizzlies, a minor-league baseball team, did a "Price Is Right" night in tribute to the retirement of Bob Barker.  They had special jerseys made, and even did some games...here are some pics, courtesy of the Uni Watch on ESPN.com Page 2....it ( Read more... )

So I went to the doctor's office on Wednesday for a routine check-up.  He was shocked I even kept the appointment (I have a habit of canceling).  Anyways, one of the things that came up was that I have acid reflux.  This explains (1) why I hiccup sometimes almost immediately after I start eating, (2) why I wake up in the middle of the night ( Read more... )

I finally left Pittsburgh Friday afternoon at 1pm, and it was quite invigorating when I went through the EZ Pass lane (Go EZ Pass!), bore to the right, and got onto 76 East.  I take this as a sign that I am very ready to move from Pittsburgh.  Less than a year ( Read more... )

For anyone that was a young child in the 80's and watched Nickelodeon religiously, then you know exactly who Mr. Wizard was...he passed away on Tuesday at the rip old age of 89. One could say he was an early influence on the paths of enjoying science and loving education.
