Summary: A sort of twisted way GSD could have ended (Warning: un-betad and OOCness)
The high chair swiveled and its occupant surveyed his approaching visitor. Despite the war taking place outside his crumbling fortress, Gilbert Dullindal smiled victoriously as he greeted the pilot of the Freedom mobile suit in a friendly manner. If the brunette was surprised by his cheerful demeanor, he didn't show it. Even after a battle where he had recently bloodied his hands again, there was not so much a crack on the teen's expressionless mask, much to Gilbert's hidden displeasure as he rose from his chair and descended the platform steps.
"Why did you come here?" he asked conversationally, ignoring the gun that was suddenly now aimed at him. "What do you want, Kira Yamato?"
"Isn't it obvious?" came the cold retort.
Kira had to congratulate himself for not trembling or shooting his own foot; for he had always been self-conscious with a gun. Unlike any of the three mobile suits he had used in combat, this weapon was not apart of him. It wasn't something essential and felt clumsy in his hand. The brunette caught himself holding it too tightly, and consciously eased up. Even when his mind told him his grip was flawless, looking at PLANT's chairman before him, it felt unbalanced.
Unfortunately, he wasn't the only one who realized this as the sound of Dullindal's devilish voice mocked him.
"Is that so?"
The older coordinator stopped at a short distanced, his calm amber eyes studied Kira briefly before glancing sideways and nodded towards the vacant control panels. "All personnel have evacuated," he informed the pilot, "it's just two of us here, and I am unarmed. So why don't you just relax?"
"What are you still doing here?"
"Do you always answer a question with another one?" When he didn't receive a response, Gilbert sighed rather dramatically, before smiling once again. "I remained on Messiah, because I knew you would be coming to see me in person and I wanted to meet you for so long."
Kira's lips parted a little to let out an inaudible gasp, for it wasn't an answer he had been expecting. "Why?"
"I'll answer your question if you answer one of mine."
Violet eyes narrowed in an annoyance as the dark haired man continued to grin pleasantly, completely ignoring the fact that Kira could end his life with just one squeeze. Yet for some reason, the teen actually considered. Initially, he didn't plan on a confrontation, but by sending assassins into their home; the Chairman had made this war personal.
"I came here," Kira spoke finally, "to ensure that the 'king' does not live to execute his 'Destiny Plan'."
A smirk spread across Gilbert's handsome features. "Yet you could have accomplished that with your new mobile suit. Why take the risk of coming this far?"
"I already answered that question, Dullindal," the ultimate coordinator snapped rather impatiently. " If my response wasn't clear enough, then I'll rephrase: I have to kill you."
The sounds of cannon fire coming from the outside seemed to die down as silence crawled up around the two of them, potent with waiting. However, the quiet only served to unnerve Kira even more. While he was here with his finger on a trigger, his comrades were fighting for their future. He couldn't afford to waste anymore time playing Twenty/Twenty with a madman.
"Before I die," Gilbert began - the derogatory smile never leaving his lips, "Will you grant me a last request?"
Why wouldn't his trigger finger move? Why couldn't he just shoot this man and be done with it? It's not as if this was his first kill... well it was, with a gun at least.
"What do you want?" Kira found himself asking against his better judgment. Suddenly the sound of steel crashing against steel, caused the pilot to turn his attention towards the now barricaded doors. His eyes widened as the same sound echoed from all corners of the room and the realization that he was now trapped within the fortress hit him hard. Now how was he going to escape if he couldn't reach the Freedom?!
The teenager jumped as a single gunshot cracked the air, followed by the sound of his weapon clattering to the floor and skidding out of sight. Against his will, he turned to face the chairman again - who was not unarmed as he claimed to be. Scowling, Kira cursed himself for being naive enough to fall into the enemy's trap. Frantically, his eyes scanned the ground for his gun.
His search was interrupted though, as the sound of approaching booted footsteps echoed off the durasteel floor. They ceased when an non-smiling Gilbert Dullindal was now standing only mere inches away, with a pistol aimed over his heart. So this was it. This was how he was going to die.
He debated trying to wrestle the weapon away, but was shocked into stillness when a warm hand reached up to touch his face. Affectionately, the palm curved around the line of his jaw and gently pulled him close. Dullindal leaned his own head down, his mouth ghosting over the young man's lips.
"What do I want, you ask?" the 'King' whispered before his lips descended to claim a kiss. "Isn't it obvious?"

>_< Okaaay this was intended to be a smutty drabble, but I cut the pr0n out to use for my future GilxKira ficlets. Anyway, why GilxKira? Well because I have a thing for crack pairings, and was able to find a doujinshi for this couple. Sadly they don't meet, but Gilbert pretty much keeps some pictures around of Kira (the ones that Lunamaria took) and of course it was lust at first sight.
