A little bit of reading

This is seriously one of the most powerful things I've read. And it makes me all the more determined to do what I'm doing as well as I can.

Please read.

That makes me all the more sad and ashamed when I question myself, "Huh, Ged was dark skinned?"

I really do get what that article is saying. Because of my upbringing at the time I know why I omitted that, and it makes me ashamed.

Please do keep doing what you are doing =)

I did too, Holly. I think most of us who had the luxury of doing so, did. I had a very non-racist upbringing, my parents were Baha'i and very socially conscious, but I still did it. Like Pam Noles, I grew up reading those same books and watching those same shows, but unlike her, it was easy to be comfortable in those worlds because I never had to wonder why there weren't any people like me in it.

I only had to wonder why all the women were either evil witches or useless, beautiful princesses.
