Sent it off again!

My "query and first 10 pages of the manuscript" have been sent off again.

You know, I realize it's super for the publisher that they don't accept simultaneous subs, but with a 3-6 month turnaround time, that realistically means you're only shopping your manuscript around to like 3 people a year.

Simultaneous subs? As in, if they find out you've sent your manuscript to more than one place at a time, they'll just pass on it? That seems like a pretty stupidly punitive system...

It's mostly because when they have a manuscript under consideration, they don't want to make an offer only to find that you've sold it somewhere else. It's for their convenience because (I believe) they shift resources around when they decide to make an offer, to make sure there's room on the publishing schedule and whatnot for a book of that size.
