Please stop telling me that in order to be a good American, I must spend money on frivolous things to keep the economy moving rather than paying off debt or saving it.

People spending money on stuff they don't need is what got us into this mess in the first place.

I agree. I've lived debt free for 5 years (including having my home paid off). I've been told I'm un-american. The truth is, I have a freedom so many Americans will never know. I own what I have, it doesn't own me. Just keep it up!
