Philosophy Assignment
First some questions to get a sense of your moral intuitions

1.) A small boy is playing happily on a swing in a local playground when an older girl pushes him off and hurts him for no other reason than that she wants to play on the swing. Are her actions morally wrong?you have 2 remember if it is a small boy it is of a small age then the moral thinking of them can be different then a teen boy.. her actions are wrong to us but to them is it unselfish. it is just a way for her to get her way. im childish so id know how it feels like to know someone else is having it and me not having it. so in a way yes and then in a way no.... its all in the eye of the beholder.

2.) Is it possible that an action is morally wrong solely for the reason that it harms the person undertaking the action? For example, might it be morally wrong to smoke just because it harms the smoker and for no other reason?once again its the viewpoint.. if you are the smoker you take it for the fact that not only does it harm you but it relaxs you.. whitch makes no sence cause a ciggerette is a upper not a downer.. but in my eyes as a non-smoker it is bad becuase all they do is affect there future life, and the lifes of others. I believe it is wrong, cause my mom smokes and i hate it. its wrong cause she doesnt have the knowledge of knowing that she will die faster becuase of the smokes and when i lose her i will be horrably sad.

3.) Is it possible something might be morally wrong for no other reason than that God determines that it is wrong? For example, imagine that God has declared that drinking water is wrong, and when she is asked why she replies honestly "for no other reason than that I say it is."no its not wrong, if you have to drink to live then you have 2 drink, noone has the right to remove your chance from living from you, that is moraly wrong.

4.) Can an action be morally wrong if it is entirely private and no-one, not even the person doing the act, is harmed by it at all?depends on the actoin really

5.) Do you think that morality comes from God or some other source outside of nature, society and human judgement?morality comes not from god not from nature not from society, but yes from human. it is in the way we think it is in the fact that we think with yes's and no's. we know what is right and what is wrong.

6.) An old woman was very ill. On her deathbed she asked her son to promise that he would visit her grave at least once a week. The son didn't want to disappoint his mother, so he promised that he would. But after his mother died, he didn't keep his promise. He was too busy. He didn't tell anyone about his promise, and he has never felt guilty for failing to do as he said he would. How do you judge the failure of the son to visit his mother's grave once a week as he promised?every human has a reason for breaking a promise, i dont feel bad for the guy but for the deceasced, but we should never cry other the dead cause they wont come back, so i can only cry for when he dies. and if there is and if he goes to that other place after were gone he will have 2 meet this old woman and tell her he is sorry, so till that day comes.

Should the son be made to keep his promise or punished in some way for failing to visit his mother's grave once a week?no man's will should be changed, and punishment is not in my territory that is for the one who is whatching over his mother

Suppose you learn about two foreign countries. In one country, it is normal for a son to break a death-bed promise to his mother to visit her grave every week. In the other, if a son has made such a promise, then it is normal for him to keep his word. Are both these customs okay morally speaking or is one of them bad or morally wrong? the way that one belives is not enough to call it wrong or right, for i would go to my mom. but at the same time i cannot... pain is for me one excuse over a promise. so im sorry if it happens even with the promise i couldnt bear to keep thinking that yes my mom is away from me, im out of her safty.. i couldnt take it.
