Today are my first classes! I can't wait, especially for Muggles Studies!
I received a letter from Mama and Papa. They remembered my birthday! They even wrote some of the letter in English! Isn't that so sweet?
Apparently they've been in Madagascar, and they got me a birthday present while there. My own owl!
I'm going to call him Rufus!
Rufus loves the Slytherin commons room! He's been hanging from the rafters all morning, and whenever someone comes in, he gets all excited and flies all around and swoops down at them to say 'hi'!
I wonder if I can take him to class with me....
[[In case you can't tell, that's not an owl. XD It's a Madagascan Flying Fox, also known as a Fruit Bat. The name Rufus comes from the Latin term for the Madagascan Fruit Bat, Pteropus rufus. Rufus is a bit skiddish, so if you want to run into him, he will be hanging out in Slytherin today, swooping at anyone who walks in and screeching. Have fun with that. Oh, and in case you're not aware of the size of a fruit bat, here's one hanging behind an adult male (human). So yeah... pretty big bat. XD I indirectly owe Christopher Moore for inspiring this concept. XDDD]]
