The ending to the tempest is not what you would expect, because Shakespeare was playing around with a new technique used by Christopher Marlowe, and some other playwrights at the time. Basically there is a tempest which causes some people to be stuck on an island. There are two separate groups of people. In one group there is an exiled brother, who was sent away by his brother (in the other group) who then claimed his kingdom. Two people fall in love. There's a magician and a fairy. At the end they all live happily ever after, the couple get married and the evil brother gives his land back to the good brother. Bit of a disappointing ending if you ask me!

That does sound kind of disapointing. But I guess Shakespear can't always have fantasic plays.
