Look, I was not saying that people can't bitch about Bush winning. They can bitch all they want about that, I couldn't give a shit. What I said is that I'm sick and tired of people saying I should just leave the country because Bush was elected. THAT is what pissed me off.

Everyone says things that are meant to make a point that they don't mean sometimes. If you say you don't, you're an out-right liar, because I know Blackledge and Walthour pretty well, and I've heard it. Often.

Now... this is a HUGE issue in the US. People feel strongly about it. I even said that four more years of Bush would be worth a move to Canada. Hell, we'll see, I may. The thing is, just because I said it doesn't mean I'm going to do it. I was/am angry, as I have the right to be. I'm not sitting here idly complaining. I voted. Short of running for office, which I can't feasibly do at this point in time, I can't do anything else except talk to people, tell them my point of view, listen to their point of view, maybe modify mine, etc, etc.

You can't take everything everyone says to heart, especially something like this that many, many people say every election.

Actually, there are things you can do. Get involved in the community, write your Senator...Senator Bayh will listen to your letters. He sent me a MASSIVE packet back in high school on the laws of terrorism, as well as a 3 page letter in response to my one page. If people are going to complain about things, I would rather them get off their asses and DO something about it. That is why I get so frustrated. Don't say you can't, because you can! Everyone can make a difference, by voting, by getting involved, by voicing your opinion to people. You CAN and WILL make a difference. Perhaps now you will understand where I'm coming from.

Maybe you're right. Maybe I should write a letter. But that's all I have time for right now (full time student, work up to 30 hours a week, active in lacrosse, you used to live with me, was I EVER home?)... that and this. I really wish I had more time, but I'm only one person. I think talking with you guys is a lot more effective than writing a letter. But thanks, maybe I'll do that too.
