I finally finished Twilight...andddd
So like, it wasn't horrible, lol, but it wasn't the end all be all of books. For the boasting on the back of the cover saying, "Best book of the decade! I was kinda expecting a climax.
It seems like the majority of the book is just Bella and Edward doing stuff. Which, you know, is cool and all, but seems a little pointless. When the entire plot revolves around hanging out in her room, and driving, and running around the forest, you might be missing some action. They are vampires for crying out loud! I wanted to see a fight! PLUS, all the footage of the fight between Edward and James really made me want to read the fight between Edward and James and...nothing. Bella passed out and wakes up when its over. I know...she was hurt, she lost blood, she almost died, but THAT should not be an excuse to have no climax. This is my major crtique of the book.
I feel as though I read the whole book for..nothing really. To get to know Bella and Edward, that's cool, but it doesn't really compel me to want to read the other books. I know at some point Jacob comes into the romance picture...which makes no sense. I understand that she wants there to be a love triangle, but when you have Bella BEGGING Edward to make her a vampire after a few weeks, confessing her undying love for him, then it seems a little flakey when all of a sudden she falls for some other guy.
I'm really worried that the rest of the books are going to just be about Bella going, "Hmm...who do I choose?" There was no action in this book, why should I expect there to be action in the next one? Because there won't be.
No climax, but it was fun to read. yeah, that's all.
