1. Your first cosplay

Hinamori Momo from BLEACH. Oh the memories... My grandma made this costume for me and I made the sword. My dad actually helped me get waraji sandals from Japan too. The anime hadn't come out yet so my badge is all white since nobody knew that it was made out of wood. ^^

2. How many costumes have you done?
My Coscom account has 38 listed but since there's a good number of cosplays that either have no pictures or haven't been worn yet, the number should be closer to somewhere in the mid-40s. I think the majority of them were made in 2007-2009, when I first got into college. AND MET wabisuke.

3. Your most recent cosplay.

Miki Sayaka from Magica Madoka. It was for a group with wabisuke, miao_ji, and yoshikochan. When I wore it at AX, I hadn't even finished the series yet and there were spoilers everywhere!!

4. Your cosplay communities, where do you go to talk about cosplay?
Mostly at conventions... I'm not too active online in terms of cosplay, except when I'm buying/selling things.

5. Blatant self plug! Link us to your cosplay page, be it dA, ACP, Coscom, whatever!
Cosplay.com account

6. Your favourite cosplay (that you have done)
It's really hard to say, because I spend a lot of effort on every costume and I basically like all of them... but in terms of the overall look, I am very fond of my Tokyo Girls Style cosplay. It's based off their music video for "Koudou no Himitsu".

7. The character you have cosplayed that is most similar to you (if none that you have cosplayed, then one that you will cosplay)

Darry Adai from Gurren Lagann is pretty similar to me and is probably why I wanted to cosplay her. She's very serious about her duties and committed to what she believes in.

I also have always thought that I was kind of similar to Tomoyo Daidouji from Card Captor Sakura... but I think I also wanted to be like her when I was young. That's probably why I smile so much! xD

8. Your cosplay plans for the rest of the year (if you have no more for this year, then do next year!)

Rocket from Sucker Punch

More Tokyo Girls Style!! Their outfits are too cute!

Trouble Chocolate. Hinano is so cute... <3

Clamp Campus Detectives. Yay I get to be a 10 year old boy!

9. The dream cosplay that might just happen
Anything CLAMP... I will cosplay anything from CLAMP artwork because I was always a huge fan but I really wanted to have a group to do it. I'm always too late to join a lot of CLAMP cosplay groups my friends put together. ^^;

10. The dream cosplay that will never happen

Haruno Sakura. I really wanted to cosplay this outfit but I wouldn't do it without a Naruto and Sasuke... but now I'm not so much of a Naruto fan anymore and I don't know any cosplayers interested in Naruto too much either. ^^;

Major Kusanagi. I like her so much but I just don't believe that I can pull her off. >< Also I can't possible fake her boobs...

11. Something cosplay-related that you will never do (eg. crossplay, cosplay from a certain series)
Cosplay something I don't know anything about. I think that you can't properly convey the character you're cosplaying unless you know a decent amount about the series they're from. Even if you haven't watched/read/played the anime/manga/game, you should at least research a bit about the character's background. -_-;

12. Your cosplay idol.

Omi Gibson. She is so amazing and she pulls off every character she cosplays so perfectly! I hope I can one day make facial expressions in photos as well as she can. *A*

13. Your cosplay specialty (ie. something that seems to apply to a large amount of your cosplays, it could be a specific series, or a common feature in their appearance, such as glasses)
Uniforms. I think I have about 15 different kinds of uniforms I've made and 10 of those are school uniforms. xD I used to be really into school uniforms because I went to a public school and was a weeaboo lol.

14. Your cosplay-making habits (eg. singing while working on cosplay)
Watching X-Files. I really like watching X-Files while I sew because sometimes I get really scared during episodes and then I can concentrate on what I'm doing because I don't want to watch. xD;

15. Your least favourite thing about cosplay
The stress before cons! I do enjoy sewing and making costumes but I hate that in the few weeks before a convention, I can't relax. I have to work so hard everyday and night to make sure the costume turns out well. But the cosplay result and wearing it at the con definitely make up for all the sleepless nights! :)

16. Do you belong to any cosplay groups? If so, what are they?
Not too much... I get invited to cosplay groups from a certain series every once in a while, but I mostly cosplay with close friends and/or on my own.

17. What events have you cosplayed to?
Anime Expo, Otakon, PMX, AnimeLA, Fanime, and Yaoicon.

18. What is your best cosplay memory?
For the Saki photoshoot with wabisuke, we brought out a mahjong table and we came up with legitimate mahjong hands and just had a lot of fun making shots look epic. xD

19. What is your worst cosplay memory?
At Anime Expo 2010, I spent about two days and nights in a row to finish Momohime before the con and was super dead at Day 1. ^^; But I suppose that's a pretty common occurrence for cosplayers haha.

20. Have you won any cosplay awards?
Only ribbons at ALA... but I haven't really entered any contests.

21. Show us your best cosplay derp photo!

Maybe this counts? ^^

22. Have you worn cosplay in a regular situation? (eg. at school, to work)
I used to cosplay for Halloween all the time in High school. I also wore my Nagato Yuki cosplay for a presentation about cosplay in college.

23. Your most expensive cosplay

Edel from Princess Tutu. I think the wig alone cost about $150 to make because of all the extra wig hair I had to buy. The costume itself wasn't too bad, but there was also the music box and I spent probably $60 or so to buy materials for it.

24. Your most comfortable cosplay and most uncomfortable cosplay

Most comfortable is Nazna from Zombie Powder. The dress is stretch knit and the labcoat is light so both were pretty comfortable and not too hot. I wore this for the Kubo Tite panel at Comiccon! :)

While Neiro's bodysuit and boots are quite comfortable to wear, the hair contraption was engineered badly and I ended up getting a migraine every hour I wore this cosplay. ><;

25. The cosplay you put the most effort into

Momohime from Oboromuramasa. I hand-painted the whole kimono and all 10 yards of the obi. It was also my first time making armor.

26. Any unfinished costumes? Will you ever finish them?
Angel Love from Wedding Peach, and Tiz from Jyuohsei. They will likely be done when the groups I originally was going to be in have time to wear them and/or have a photoshoot.

27. How many wigs do you own? Which is your favourite?
Probably about 30... ^^; I have a medium-long blonde wig that I haven't used for cosplay yet, but I like wearing it for Halloween and just for fun. It really makes me want to dye my hair blonde! :)

28. Where do you work on your cosplays and where do you store them when they’re done?
I work in my room at my parent's house or in the kitchen at my apartment. They are all stored at my parent's house in my old room. It's so nostalgic to go back and look at them. ;)

29. What is your favourite cosplay item? (eg. a pair of shoes, a wig)

For my Tokyo Girls Style cosplay, I handpainted these shoes. They were originally black and I made them red using probably 10 coats of fabric paint. They are not as painful to walk around in as I originally thought. xD;

30. Describe cosplay in three words. No more, no less.
Work then play!

meme, cosplay is serious business
