i was hit up tagteam style by both anddreamofsheep and businesscasual. so i guess i must appease you all with

Cinq Particularités Étranges de Moi#01] i detest putting punctuation inside of quotes, unless it's a part of the quote itself. for example, if a sentence ends with a quotation, the period for the entire sentence is supposed to be inserted BEFORE the closing ( Read more... )

I am the exact opposite on #1. I must put my punctuation inside the quote, which causes me anxiety when the sentence as a whole ends with a question mark. But it seems so wrong to not have some punctuation inside that last quote.

my grammar studies have put me into the more "descriptive" camp rather than the "prescriptive" camp.

i am a stickler for other punctuation, though. like using a semi-colon instead of a comma when items in a series contain commas themselves. and not using a colon after a verb - it must come after some word or phrase that is (or is functioning as) a noun. for sure.

Jarod, I know you know this, but we're like the same person except I have a little bit better taste than you.

So I guess we're the same sofar as idiosyncracies go. I know the rules, but when a sentence ends in a quotation, a period belongs outside of the set. ITS NOT PART OF THE FUCKING QUOTE. It should be: "QUOTE"[end sentence].

I like to touch myself and drink a lot also.

And lastly, do you realize we haven't seen eachother in about four years? We're like...estranged.

just because you've developed this snobby attitude about your interests does not mean that, officially, they are better than mine. i mean, the band's even called "garbage". that's enough advertisement for that trash right there.

also, i was thinking just earlier tonite about the time we were driving around, and we were coming back from that beach, at nite. and we went over that large bridge, and there was a shooting star. awww, fond memories.

the world, preoccupied.
