Today at University wasn't too bad, only really had to attend one event and it went very well. I've been assigned a group and I've made a friend. We were playing on a computer game for a short while before his machine died due to chronic graphics card failure

Sounds much better than the first impression, and indeed the 'freshers' stuff. Your new friend sounds like a decent person, though you should learn how to spell his name.

Good to hear that we've got a potential job already. s'not the work we intended to start off with, but it never is, is it? All work is work, and it'll be good to get some business flowing again. It's been a long time.
