April didn't have parents visiting, just a friend (Mal, who looked uncomfortable tagging along behind her since voluntarily visiting teachers on Saturdays wasn't something you did when you were punk, April).

"Hi, Mr. Rodriguez!" she said brightly. "I was just showing my friend around the school. This is Mal. I didn't know they let teachers bring friends for the weekend too!"
