do you suppose this is what they meant all those times they said "welcome to the real world?"

four years of college and I finally got it through my head that I want to figure out what to do with my life
other then sell people stuff

In the “real world”, a majority of jobs entail selling people stuff. Whether it’s selling your ideas to shareholders of a company, selling power regulators to be used in an Ipod, selling life and health insurance policies, selling books written by yourself, etc.

Having excellent salesmanship is a valuable skill. I’ve been thinking of investing in improving mine. In my job, I don’t have to sell anything. But, my income will also be limited in the future. In order to significantly increase my income, I will have to eventually sell “stuff.”

Just have to be selling the right stuff.

3) I won't be able to make it to your party. In fact, won't be able to make it to any party this Saturday. Oh well.

4) It is a good idea.

5) It wasn't a waste of money or time. If you hadn't at least tried, you'd be berating yourself for a long time. I was under the impression you wanted to manage a restaurant, not be a head chef? Or in the restaurant business do you need to have both skills to be successful?

5) Heh. Tony just reminded me of the same thing. How totally ironic.

1) Don't worry too much about me, I'm doing everything in my power to find a job. I'll try not to get stressed out about it anymore. And I'm not worried about our future in the slightest, i'm confident we will both achieve all the important goals we have set for ourselves, and we will do it together ( ... )

Don't be stupid and not let her pay for anything, that is silly.
