Ugh. :( Pretty painful, and not my favorite dynamic to see between Eames and Arthur, but definitely a believable one, and I really liked the rawness of Arthur's feelings, and the story in general.
A very lovely fic (in a fucked-up sort of way, lol), thanks so much for sharing this!
FIrst of all: the LOL moments: “I thought that was my own personal journey of self-discovery and grieving and you just invited yourself along for the ride.” and Adriana from Lima? XDDD
Second of all: oh my goodness, they're so screwed up. I got so winded up reading this! thumbs up!
Oh dear god this was painful. I hate to see either one of them like this, I'd rather have them happy any day, but the way you stayed with this and kept digging into it was incredibly well-done. Painfully realistic and evocative. Ugh! (and I mean that in a good way, as in - ugh! you got it so right!)
Oh my God this was perfect in the most frustratingly heartbreaking way.
I just wanted to shake the hell out of both of them cause they are both so maddening.
I was honestly so invested while I was reading this that my breathing sped up. It was so unsatisfying, but in a good way (if that makes any sense). But tacking a "happily ever after" on the end would have been disingenuous and wrong. Your way (as hard as it was to read at times) was the only right way.
