So I really wanted to get the baby fic up near Valentine’s Day, but that clearly didn’t happen. It just crossed the 15K point and is looking NOWHERE NEAR to being done and I made myself promise to get that fucker out of the way before I did anything else so now my laptop and I are at this Western-style impasse, hands over our holsters, yelling “you

"It's not like it was, so we're just wasting our time," Alex finally said.

"We can't go to Saito with this," Arthur says. "He's not stupid and he's not forgiving. He's already figured out that Eames is the one that double-crossed him, he's already bought a prison and made himself warden just to put Eames in it, and he'll probably have Eames killed if we let this sit for too long."
"Is your legal system so backwards that you don't believe in innocent before proven guilty?" Eames grouses. "I'm telling you, I was set up."
"Well, he was told it was a British con artist with the alias Mr. F," Arthur says, "who do you think he's going to come after, Eames?"
"Some support would be nice, that's all I'm saying," Eames says, brushing imaginary pieces of lint of his prison-issued orange jumpsuit. Arthur notices that Eames seems to be fond of the hideous, eye-searing thing. He would be."What about inception?" Ariadne says in a low voice. Arthur has ( ... )

It’s not that Yusuf is unintelligent, he’s just not interested. He’s failed out of more schools than most people even apply to and it’s not because he didn’t deserve to be there or because he couldn’t take the pressure. He just had other things on his mind. It was so easy to learn something someone else had already done. It was as easy as following instructions, or a map. What was the point of any of it? Yusuf operates on the idea that the aim of science is to go farther, not spend forever rehashing information you could easily get off the internet. So he tends to ignore assignments and projects that don’t excite him, spend his time on experiments and theories. It’s not good for his GPA, or his love life, for that matter ( ... )

anyway, here's the silver monkey one:
"I have the best idea," Ariadne says. "The best. Idea. Ever." No one looks excited by this. Ariadne doesn't blame them, they've been tossing around increasingly unlikely plans for how to get to this mark for hours now and they're no closer to anything workable than they were when she left to get them some coffee. "So this guy, our mark, he's, like, my age, right?"
"Early twenties," Cobb agrees. "What's your point?"
"I know how he thinks," Ariadne says. "Also I stalked his facebook profile while I was waiting for the coffees and it turns out we have some common interests." Some common awesome interests, but she knows better than to over-sell this. She shows them her phone, where she still has the facebook group page up: "The shrine of the silver monkey was easy ( ... )

Cobb is deeply disturbed by the seduction plot. Not just because it's Arthur and the idea is somehow as traumatizing as picturing his own parents having sex, but also because Mal always thought Arthur and Eames made a great couple (Cobb has no idea why she would have thought that, but, well, she was a little crazy, after all) and she wouldn't have wanted to see their love cheapened like this. Dom is still a romantic at heart and he vows to do everything he can to stop this from happening. And if he also gets to enjoy the knowledge that he prevented someone from further sullying the already dubious virtue of his point man, then that's just an added bonus. The problem is, it's tough to find people who are against the plan. Especially since not even Arthur and Eames themselves seem to have any problem with it ( ... )
