Shampoo, Conditioner and Daily Question

I have been trying to cut my carbon footprint and have decided to try bar shampoos and conditioners instead of shampoo and conditioners in plastic bottles. I'm not sure where to begin. I like my shampoo to have a nice smell but most of these bars are bought online so you can't do the sniff test. When I read reviews I tend to read mostly one-star

I will admit I have never even hear of bar shampoos. As I actually like generic cheepe shampoo they come in a big bottle, so that means they don't need replacing often!

I use various bar shampoos from lush. I think as long as you lather them up in your hands and apply the lather to your hair, and not rub the bar directly onto the hair, you should be ok. The bars cost around £8 i think, but they last for a good few months, depending on how often you wash your hair. The Lush website describes what each one is good for....

Thank you so much for the recco and the info about lathering in your hand first. Of all the reviews I have read no one has mentioned lathering in your hand first but it so makes sense.

When I looked up Lush I found out that there happens to be a Lush store in a mall not too far from my house, so I can personally check them out.
