So, I am now watching Season 2 of Mad Men on DVD. Supposedly, everyone who is anyone in the whole world (by which I mean Manhattan) has watched this before me

Oh god, yes. The female relationships are far less catty on that show--in fact, one of the things that's sad about them is the way they're so isolated. All the men have a low-level competition/tearing down thing going.

Did you know that show has a writing staff that's more women than men? That made a lot of sense to me when I read it.

I hate Don, too. The worst is that lots of women think he's (like, his character is) sexy. Dude, NO.

Mad Men seems to be the sort of show where the people who go on about how glamorous and sexy it is...didn't actually live through that period of time, or know people who lived and worked and fought every day to be treated like human beings during that time. There was nothing glamorous or sexy about it.
