So initial impression of the season 6 premiere of Supernatural.
No rocking recap? Where's my awesome music??
Nah, it was OK. The cuts of Dean's new life and old life were almost brilliant, and I really appreciated that. But next week? Rocking recap, okay?
YED - you kick ass. So awesome to see you again, even only for one episode. Glad they got the ceiling fire thing in without actually KILLING Lisa. Also, did Dean's hallucination of the YED call Cas Dean's sugar? lol
I'm not a Sam fan, but for some reason, I'm hopeful of this season already. First, I was a little bit upset that he was asking Dean to throw away his new life, but when he said that bit about not jumping in, not caring... that was interesting. Because Sam was always the type to care, until, well, he kind of wasn't. Became more of the ends justify the means type guy - and well, he knows where that landed him and that's why he wants Dean to come along. I thought that was good that he acknowledges that - at least to himself. If they both see each other as equals - or at least partners who take care of each other's weaknesses - I will just be so grateful.
PLUS to the fact that Dean picked Lisa and Ben over hunting. Yes. Yes. Yes. End of season now. After the shitty last season, Dean finally has something good. Don't ruin it. Please.
Do not know how I'm going to feel about the whole family reunion thing.... I'm not really liking it. Especially when they're setting them up to be shady characters.
May or may not write a more extensive opinion piece. Depends on when I get a chance to watch the episode again, if I do watch it again. Overall, not a really strong season premiere - since really, I'm not craving more. But at the same time, it wasn't horribly paced and like another season premiere I can think of.
