one has to have very thick skin to be a poltician, because there are constant ideological attacks. fortunately, most of the attacks are based on false perceptions, so those are easy to deal with. mostly. the other day, i got a message from someone attacking me for being a neocon, and i wrote back explaining that i'm not a neocon, and then they responded back with 'see, you're a liar like all the rest of them.'... they had a false perception, and when i tried to explain that they had a false perception, they thought i was lying, because in their mind, all politicians are liars. i was able to befriend that person eventually, but it took some effort. =)
politics is very civilized compared to other things i've done in life; as someone who still sings and plays guitar in a rock band, you have to be able to deal with drunk guy spraying beer at you, giving you the finger and yelling 'you suck' while you're trying to nail some guitar licks or remember a lyric.
MR. TERBOLIZARD. I am curious. I read on your website that you have released electronic music? May I ask under what name, and where I might be able to find it to listen to?
I self-published six CDs of electronic music as TERBO TED, and a handful of white label vinyl records, very small quantities. They are hard to find anywhere, although CDs show up on ebay once in awhile. 'SPAMMING' was my best CD, from 1998, it's out of print.
http://www.terboted.com/mp3/TerboTed_RoostersRevenge.mp3 This was the lead track, "Rooster's Revenge" Notable in that it had far more layers of all-digital sound effects than other electronic artists were using back then; I put the song together in Adobe Premiere- video editing software- because it allowed more layers and longer samples than the software-based digital audio environments at that time. Most folks were still using analog midi instruments for electronic music in 1998; this was all digital sound collage, completely cut-and-paste.

If any of the presidential candidates joined LJ it'd all be over for everyone else at that point.

At the time, this was really really out there, but it sounds kinda normal now after stuff like kid606 and all that.
