Author's note: I guess saying sorry is not enough for my long absence^^; But seriously guys; new apartment, no internet. I've prepared more stories, I just need to find how to end it. I hope you enjoy this one.
A 16 year-old Sakurai Sho stood on an intersection holding his dark blue umbrella under the heavy rain, waiting for the light to turn green so he can cross the road and get home soon. And during this two minutes of waiting while being blown by the cold wind of winter-soon-to-be-spring, he is not, emphasizing on the not, thinking about a certain boy a year younger than him that lately has been interrupting his moment of peace of reading his book on the school rooftop during lunch time. A certain boy called him sempai, but not a bit of respective tone in his tone when speaking to him. A boy who sometimes shows him magic tricks or play a sad song with his guitar that he claim to be his original piece of work.
No. Not him. Not even for a second.
That is until that certain boy, not discreetly, slid under his umbrella from behind him and squeeze his right shoulder.
“Sempai, give me some shelter, will you?” The boy said with a shiver. Obviously cold from being poured by the rain.
“Ninomiya-kun..” Sho blinked at the boy beside him. His wet bangs stick to his forehead. His bag and uniform is so wet Sho can almost see through under his shirt (not that he’s looking). “Bring your own umbrella.” He clicked his tongue and pushed his glasses up his nose with one finger.
But the younger man just scoffs. Sho’s surprised when he felt how cold Nino’s fingers are as the younger man grabbed his hand that’s holding the umbrella and bring it closer to him. “It’s too much of a trouble. Come one, give a kouhai some pity.”
The light finally turn green and he walk to cross the road. He fastens his pace on purpose. The younger boy skips beside him, trying to match his steps.
“What are you doing later, sempai?”
“Homework. Study for tomorrow’s test. Sleep.”
“How boring. You do that everyday? Don’t you have anything else to do?” Nino chuckled.
“I’m a third year student, Ninomiya. I have nothing else to do than study.” He leered to the boy next to him. He can see him shivering. He really should change his clothes soon.
“As expected from an honor student.” Sho didn’t need to turn his head to see that Nino is smirking. “Hey, I just bought a new game. Wanna play?”
The older man sighs. “I told you, I have to study.”
“Can I come to your house?”
Sho wrinkled his brows and looked at the other man in disbelief. “No. I just told you I got a test tomorrow. And don’t you have some homework to do?”
“I got no homework today.” Which is probably a lie, Sho thought.
There were some other groups of students who go to the same high school behind them. And Sho can see that some of them are Nino’s classmates. So why is he here asking him to share and umbrella with him when he can ask his friends?
“What subject?”
“Huh?” Sho looked to his side.
“Your test tomorrow. What subject?”
“Oh. Err..Chemistry.”
“I suck at Chemistry.” Nino said casually. The boys that were walking behind walked pass them and Nino waved.
“Nobody sucks at anything. You’re just not studying hard enough.”
“No, seriously. I suck at it. Or probably the teacher suck. That’s why I don’t get it.”
“Stop being rude.” It is totally Nino to blame everyone else beside him for everything. Like a spoiled 5 year-old brat. Sho don’t know why he keeps up with him.
“Oh, I know!” The younger boy suddenly turned to him. “You can be my tutor. Then I might actually finally understand what the teacher is talking about. I’ll pay you.”
“You can’t afford to pay me. And besides, I don’t have the time.” Sho brushed him off with a smirk.
“Oh well, then I guess I’d fail this year’s Chemistry then.” The skinny boy shrugged his shoulder. Is that supposed to make him sympathize for him, Sho thought absent-mindedly. He walked around to avoid muddy spots and puddles of water. Although he could see that his sneakers is already soaked.
Then he realized that they’re already close to his house because he can see the usual convenience store where he always stop by to look at the magazines. But the younger man is still with him.
Sho turned to his side. “Wait, why are you still here? You don’t live around here, do you?”
“I’m coming to your house.”
“I already said no.” Sho raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t have to get inside. I just want to see where you live.”
“…You’re weird. Go home, Ninomiya. I’ll see you tomorrow.” Sho is about to walk away when Nino grabbed his sleeve. Sho turned his has back to be greeted by Nino’s dark eyes staring fixedly at him. “What is it?” Sho gave him a cold look. Although he didn't try even one bit to release his grip.
“I like you, sempai.”
Sho thought the sound of rain pouring to his umbrella have made him misheard Nino’s words. “What?” He can’t help but ask back.
“I think I like you.” Nino said it again. Which made Sho blinked. Once. Twice.
He thinks. What was that supposed to mean?
Then he rolled his eyes. He gets it. This is one of Nino’s mischievous scam. He’s probably just saying it to make him teach him chemistry for free. “Nice one, Ninomiya. But I’m not going to fall for it. Now go home.”
But suddenly Nino grabbed his shoulder and leaned forward.
Even now after 11 years Sho can still remember the feel of Nino’s cold lips when touching his. The chilling wind that hit his face and the drops or rain on his head because he had dropped his umbrella. Sho can also remember thinking that Nino must have been on drugs or something because he had the guts to kiss him on public in broad daylight.
Nino experienced his two first times that day. The first thing is the experience of having the taste of another man (or boy)’s lips for the first time. And the second is the experience of having a dislocated jaw.

“I can’t chew properly for the next few days after that, you know.” Nino grunted.
Sho laughed hard. “Why of course! What do you expect when you kiss a 16 year-old boy who think he was straight?”
“But you don’t have to hit me so hard!”
“It doesn’t hurt now, does it?” Sho ran a knuckle on the younger man’s jaw that’s leaning on him on the sofa, playing his DS.
“No, but sometimes I can still hear it crackling when I eat.”
“What are you guys talking about?” Jun came up from behind the sofa.
“The story where Sho punched Nino.” Aiba answered for them with a chuckle. He was sitting on the lazy chair reading a magazine. That story never fails to amuse him.
“Why would Sho did that?”
“It’s a story from where Nino and I were still in high school. I was really confused back then.”
“I kissed him and he punched me.” Nino sums up the story while still concentrating on his game.
“How come I don’t know anything about this?”
“Didn’t we tell you about this before?” Sho and Nino looked at each other then at Jun.
“No you guys didn’t. Did you know about this too?” Jun asked Ohno who just walked out of the toilet.
“The story when Sho punched Nino for kissing him when they were in high school? Yeah I do.” Ohno yawned as he scratched his neck and walked to the lazy chair. Aiba scooted to the side and gave Ohno a place to sit although there was barely any space left.
“Wait. High school? I thought you said before that there was nothing between you and Nino.” Jun leaned on the sofa, staring at Sho through slitted eyes.
“I..said that?” Sho swallowed hard. Nino paused his game and threw his head up to look at Sho who was worrying his lips. Ohno and Aiba were looking it him too.
“Yeah you did. When I first made a move on you, remember? You said nothing ever happened between the two of you so I don’t have to worry.”
Nino tried hid his laughter by covering his face with his DS, but he can’t hide his shaking shoulders.
“Uuh..I have probably said that so that you don’t break up with Nino because I know you’re already jealous with me being close to Nino back then.”
“Aaw..that’s so sweet of you.” Nino tapped on Sho’s thigh.
“Were you jealous?” Sho asked the youngest man even though he already knew the answer.
“No, I wasn’t. I’m not.” The younger man quickly changed the use of past tense on his sentence into present tense.
“It’s okay if you do, babe. Don’t we all love our precious Sakurai Sho?” Nino teased as he got back to his game, not noticing how Sho’s cheeks turned red at his words.
Jun rolled his eyes. “Well at least he didn’t punch me when I kissed him.”
Nino pressed the pause button and looked up from his DS as if he realized something. “He’s right. Why didn’t you punch him?”
“Huh? Well, I was..I..You do know that I love you too right?” Sho tried to reassured Nino when he saw the younger man looking at him with squinted eyes.
“Now you’re the one who’s being jealous.” Jun mashed up Nino’s hair before leaving them. “I’m taking a nap.”
“I’m coming with you!!” Aiba threw the magazine in his hand and jumped to follow Jun. Ohno stretched his body and is now already back dozing off now that he had the chair to himself.
Nino looked at Sho who still gave him a wide assuring grin. The gamer sighed and went back to play his game. “I thought the aftertaste of a kiss should taste like the lips of the person you kiss. Mine tasted like metal.” He grunted.
Sho’s eyes soften. He moved closer to Nino and held his chin with one hand. “I’m sorry.” He looked at him in the eye and leaned in to kiss the younger man. This time Nino didn't even bother to pause his game. When they pull apart after the kiss, Nino didn't realize that he was staring at Sho’s lips.
“How’s the aftertaste now?” Asked Sho.
Nino licked his lips. He lifted his eyes to look at Sho, then to the side at a half empty glass on the table and pouted. “You taste like Jun’s vegetable juice.”
The older man threw his head back and laughed. “Well at least you didn't have pain in your jaw this time.” He said, still laughing.
Nino looked away from Sho and went back to his DS. “I’ll never gonna forget that punch. You owe me.”
