Summary: Toma finally was brave enough to come to see Ohno. But then he met some unexpected people..
Toma reached out his hand to push the bell. But then he stopped and returned his hand to his side He has been doing that for the last 10 minutes just collecting the strength to push that bell. He breathed out and straightened his back. He tried to push the bell again, only to stop just a few millimeters away from it.
Wait, this is really his home, isn’t it? He thought. He walked to the front gate to check on the nameplate. Yes, that’s his name right there on the very top among four other names. Then he went back to stood in front of the front door. He fixed his hair and pulled his shirt straight. He gave the box in his hand one last look and slowly lifted his finger again and tried to push the button for the nth time.
But then again, he saw his forefinger tremble and he dropped his hand. I can’t do it after all, he thought. I must’ve looked stupid like this.
He quickly turned his body around and decided to go home when suddenly there was a man standing on his way. His tall figure hovered over him and stared at him with a cold look.
“What are you doing on front of people’s house?” The man asked him. His voice was low but nowhere near soft. On the contrary, it posses some power that can make people shiver just from hearing it.
“I’m here to meet someone.” Toma swallowed. “Are you a resident of this house?”
“Who?”
“Huh?”
“Who are you going to meet?”
Toma blinked. “I’m sorry, you are..?”
But the man in suit didn't answer him. Instead, he kept staring at him. Obviously wanting some answer.
“Ohno. I’m here to meet Ohno.” Toma finally said.
The moment he said the name, the stranger smile brightly.
“Why didn't you say so??” He huddled the shorter man which made him surprise. “I’m here to meet Matsumoto. Do you know him too?”
Toma shook his head.
“I’m kind of in the middle of, well, making a move at him. I thought you were aiming for him too, so..”
“Wait. What? I don't..”
“I’m Oguri. Nice to meet you.”
“I’m..Toma.”
Oguri spotted the box in Toma’s hand.
“You brought gift? You sly. Or rather, smart. I should’ve done that.” Oguri was seriously thinking.
“I..I don't intend to impress him or anything. I just..”
“Really?” Oguri gave him a grin. “Did you say Ohno? Yes, he’s pretty cute. Not much of a talker though.”
“You knew him?”
“Yeah, I’ve seen him around the house.”
“What was he like?”
Now Oguri was looking at him with a weird look. “Have you never met him before?”
“No, I have. Just a couple of times though. And that was only at the coin laundry shop.” For some reason Toma suddenly felt really embarrassed talking about this to a stranger.
“Didn't you guys talk about anything?”
“Well, like you said, he’s a quite person.”
Oguri shrugged his shoulder. “He is. I rarely see him talk.” The detective noticed the look on Toma’s face. “But then I guess that's one of his charm point, isn’t it?”
Toma blushed at Oguri’s last words. Specially when he saw the smile on the other man’s face.
“Umm..” He wasn't sure if he should ask this, but he went anyway. “Do you know if Ohno-san is dating anyone right now?”
The taller man laughed so hard at this Toma had to shushed him.
“Why not try ask him that yourself?”
Toma’s eyes went wide, “I can’t ask him that!”
“But if you don't, you wouldn't know right?
“Or do you want me to ask him? I’m a detective by the way. I’m good at interrogating people.”
“You’re a detective?”
“Yes. And based on my experience, Ohno seems like the type who would give answer easily when being pressured.”
Toma gave him a look. “No, please don't do that to him. Have pity on him.”
“Relax, I won’t be hard on him. I’ll just..”
Suddenly the door in front of them opened and a short skinny man yelled at them with a high pitched voice.
“Stop making a fuss in front of other people’s house!”
At this Toma quickly bowed and apologize. While Oguri smiled at the man inside the house. “Yo, Nino!”
“Shun-kun, are you here to see Jun-pon again?”
Jun-pon? Toma thought.
“I was wondering if he was free tonight.”
The man called Nino sighed. “Shun, I already told you that he was taken. Stop trying to make a move on him, will you?”
Oguri just shrugged his shoulder and smiled. “I’m just trying.” Then Oguri looked to the guy on his side. “Oh, by the way. This is Toma. He wants to see Ohno-san.”
Toma bowed once again. “Nice to meet you. Is Ohno-san home?”
Nino looked at him, “What did you say your name was?”
“Toma. Ikuta Toma.”
Nino paused and seemed to be thinking for a while. Then he remembered something. “You’re the coin laundry man.”
“Huh?” Toma seemed to be confused.
Nino gave him a smile. “Well unfortunately, Toma-san, Ohno-san is not home at the moment. . Something needs to be done on the gallery.” Then his look went to the cake box in Toma’s hand. “Is that for him?”
Toma flustered. “Oh, yes. Please.” He handed Nino the gift.
Nino took the box gladly. The he turned to look at Oguri. “Jun is on a photoshoot. He said he won’t be back until 8. So you should be going too.”
Oguri dropped his shoulder. “Can I still come in and play your Wii?”
Nino gave him a suspicious look. “Do you want to play or do you want this cake?” He pointed the box in his hand.
“Both.” Oguri answered him with a grin.
For a while, Nino just stood there, weighing. Then he moved to the side to give way. “Get in.”
“Thanks. I’m coming in.” Said the detective still smiling. While Toma just stood there staring at them with blank look until Nino called him out.
“Don't just stand there. You too get in.”
“What? Oh. Okay.” Toma didn't really know what to say so he just followed the other man’s direction. “Thank you.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Said Nino. “Oh, but I need to tell you beforehand that I’m dating Satoshi. So if you tried to do anything to him even as simple as trying to touch him, I'll kill you.”
Toma paused midway. “Yes?” He thought he had misheard him.
“You heard me.”
“Wait, so you’re saying that you’re dating all three of them??!” Oguri shouted from across the hallway.
“Don't forget about Masaki.”
Oguri’s eyes went wide. “FOUR?!”
While Oguri can express his astonishment with words, Toma on the other hand, just stood there frozen like a statue.
Nino tapped him on the shoulder and said nonchalantly, “Beer?”
