Learning knitting

So here's a photo of my first practice piece. It's knit stitch only, and I haven't bound off yet. I was definitely getting into a pretty good (if not exactly *fast*) rhythm yesterday. Now that e_moon60 has brought it to my attention in a comment on yesterday's post, I think the tension isn't bad for a beginner. There are tons of video clips on YouTube for knitters--including a number on picking up dropped stitches. Here's one I found helpful:

I relearned some things and learned others new by watching YouTube videos of them, since I don't have a helpful teacher nearby.

Your first attempt looks really good to me.

Thanks! It's fun learning a new skill. I know YouTube videos will help since I can't always be interrupting my neighbour for her assistance. :-)
