Classical Conditioning

Funny little anecdote. My father used own a blue Chevy Lumina many years ago. During the winter when I'd go to ride in the car, I would reach for the door handle and get shocked. My mom has a Lumina and it does the same thing to me. I eventually learned to touch something else before touching the door--both getting in and coming out.

I always touch the car door or whatever with the back of my hand first because it is not nearly as sensitive plus it disperses the arc better than the small area at the tip of the finger.
