I went to the local hardware store and got one of these. It's a little bit of a tight squeeze (I dunno how well your suit packs up), but everything fits, it has nice metal latches, and a handle that works well for attaching baggage tags and stuff... And it stood up to the abuse pretty well when I took it down to Austin back in May (it's also just about the right size, the old container I was using was too big for baggage).
Hey, that does look really sturdy! I'll have to see if I can find that here. Everything I have seems to pack down pretty well (the tail packs a whole lot better than I would have thought). Thanks very much!
I sort of figured on checking out Canadian Tire. Heading there tomorrow. I'm not really a fan of WalMart. Thanks though, I didn't think of looking in that section. That saves me a lot of time. :)
Actually, some people do this. Some hotels will accept mail and deliver it to your room or hold it at the front desk. It's also an option. And then you can mail it back or take it home only one way.
Insurance is a must here, and some hotels are quick to toss packages out if they are claimed or delivered AFTER the patron leaves. This worries me, but I'd call the MFF westin/con hotel and ask about it's policies.
My aunt and I made cookies for my traveling cousin and uncle, which were to be delivered to his hotel room or held at the front desk for him. My cousin never checked his hotel messages and left without his package, only to ask later where those cookies were. The hotel was going to throw the package out, which we had to fight to get back. Stale starting to mold cookies he never got we overnighted to him the night they were baked wasn't the problem. It was his new wife's and baby's presents, like a sapphire bracelet for the wife and a jumper for the baby that had some value.
Actually I trust the airline a lot more than UPS. FedEx has been OK, but UPS at times looks like they decided to play football with the packages.
Further, with sending stuff this way across border the price goes up, and after last year's teapot/FedEx fiasco (still shudders at the price), I'm disinclined to trust them. Consider it a soft-boycott of FedEx. :D

But I read about fursuits for a while, wanting to make my own. I did pick up a few things reading for a few years. (Some of this may not be what you asked for

*hugs* Thanks very much for pointing me to this. Several of those things I had figured out (laying things flat, stuffing in and around head, etc, etc, etc from some of the business trips I took this year. But several others I had not hit on.
