God help me I'm actually pondering a Twitter account.

It's sort of worthwhile, I think - I find its strength lies in the new cross-sections of people you can meet, rather than the service per se; I've encountered some quite amazing photographers.

It is rather lacking, otherwise - only one icon, no per-entry privacy (and even then, it's all or nothing; and worst of all, if you lock your account, you can follow someone, and they can't see anything of you. I find that one-way mirror quite creepy, and tend to just block any locked accounts as a result), useless searching.. but, it's a handy adjunct to LJ, especially for quick throwaway comments or links.

I think if I were to do this I'd do it partly in character but based around what's actually happening. Might be fun to try and mix the two.
