I don't have a fancy phone, but the apps I really like are the augmented reality ones. My housemate has an astronomy one. It uses the inbuilt GPS to know where you are and which direction you're facing, so you can just hold the phone up, it gives you a little window onto what you're looking at and highlights all the stars names, then as you move, it moves.

You can get enhancements for it to show you things like where the international space station is or what satellites are overhead and where they are.

I thought it was cool, but I don't know the name of it, so if you want it, you might have to go hunting.
