No I wont duplicate the article.

Firefly Reborn as Online Universe

I do think the article nails the point the Firefly is the Star Trek of the time; so let's give a big hand to those studio execs who cancel series before they can get stale!

Eh...not the same. Not remotely.
What I *liked* was the characters, and a game is going to have a bunch of people believing they are good facsimiles when they aren't.

Supposedly, there are more movies in the works. I like that idea...as long as they stop killing the characters! lol

And I have to say, this series was far, far from stale. Hell some of the best episodes didn't even air ("Heart of Gold" is my fav). It had alot more life in it.

The biggest issue with it was they debuted it on the completely wrong network, otherwise it would have become more compatible with Star Trek I think.

I dont think Serenity was stale, rather I think that like star trek it was pulled off the air and became a bigger intrest because of that.

Star trek if you think about it was a maverick work, Roddenberry had this idea that Sci-fi could be smart and signifegant and deal with current real likfe issues in a context that noone had before. Serenity was Joss's vision of that too; he just has better actors, better tech, (better director too)

anyway - they lodged in our minds and we felt like something was taken away from us and we look for more of our image of it.

noone would have been as excited about a star trek movie, if the show hadnt been off the air for that long. We did the same for serenity and it was a shorter run on TV and then to film.

So really the canceling of the series was in the end good for it.

and then paramount had to milk trek to near death; and i dont see that happening with Serenity.
