TAXES & HOW THEY WORK IN THE USA

THIS SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING FOR ALL SCHOOL KIDS FROM JR HIGH THROUGH COLLEGE

Sometimes politicians, journalists and others exclaim; "It's just a tax cut for the rich!" and it is just accepted to be fact. But what does that really mean? Just in case you are not completely clear on this issue, I hope the ( Read more... )

Everyone knows that, sir. I applaud that you did portray the poor as stupid and the rich as haughty. However, you failed to add the epilogue to the story!

The tenth (richest) man went back and hired the four poorest to grow his food and cook and serve him his meals.

One of them refused and made his home on the beach with his feet up in the sand, begging for handouts to feed himself and his family, leaving only the three left now to do the work of five.

The rich man sat in a plush chair, also with his feet up and watched the three labor to exhaustion, sweat, and starve on his leavings, ignoring their children's cries of hunger or sickness, the misery and panic in their eyes...

Sensationalism!

Also-- more economics for you:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1. (2.5% of his income- couldn't get out to eat often, could he?)
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.

No, the poor aren't all stupid. However, some are. The ones who believe that they don't need the rich to pay the biggest brunt of the taxes, for example. And, no, the guy who had to pay 2.5% of his income couldn't get out to eat often. What a concept. That the guy who makes the least is the one who can least afford to go out. Well, of course! That would be why when I was looking for a job, I went out to find the job that paid me the most money. Odd thinking, that.

I hope you at least smiled!

And that's a whole 'nother discussion--opportunities.

Born with a rich (haughty) father and a poor (ahem) mother long gone their separate ways, I'm well--forgive my monetary confusion. I guess I'm bi-fiscal.

Really, I enjoyed reading your blog. Thanks.
