Holy sithmonkies, darlin- that's... I reiterate teachers must be at least slightly mad - because that's craziness! *hugs* Will keep you in my prayers that everything gets done well and simply!
It's not so much the teachers that are mad as it is the people who assign our schedules, I think. Since they are the same people who decided we should have three teachers in my hallway change rooms for next year JUST SO WE ARE ALL GROUPED BY LANGUAGE. Because it would be a world crisis to have a Latin teacher in the middle of Spanish teachers. *ireeh*
Though I do like my new room. Not very different from my old one, but maybe a little bigger. The custodian who was cleaning it while I was moving things in today thought it was, anyway. :-) And I am very happy about the idea of not sharing it with another teacher, although I still have my doubts that won't change by August.
YAYS! for being done with grading. (downside of getting a job at a community college--no TAs. I'm going to regret that, methinks.)
...all this is making me VERY NERVOUS about starting teaching in the fall. Because I'm going to have to be prepping for that while teaching three summer-camp workshops with NO lab assistance. I guess I should be thankful I'm not in a public school so they won't do things to me like combine different classes! You are amazing!
(And I realised I have a very selfish reason for wanting your district to keep Latin: I really want to go to Italia with you next summer! I'm almost positive I'll have time!)
Hey, I realize you're more into Rome, but do you know anything about ancient Greek weddings? *plotting fanfic*
Oooh, no TAs and you've got college work to grade - ouch! (Also, I miss having student aides who could grade for me. The schools have now decreed that no student aide may grade another student's work for confidentiality's sake. Bleh. I think they should, for me actually getting grades done's sake
( ... )
Oh, and I should point out - we'll still have the Italy trip next summer even if next year is my last at HSE. I'm hoping I can round up enough of my kids (and friends from far states? :-) to be able to afford to go myself. So far I have one who's pretty sure he's going, and a few more thinking about it. I wish the trip were this summer, I miss it already...

2. Oh yeah, that's true - still, that's a lot of hoop jumping, eeps!
3. That's good to hear! I hope it doesn't change - you deserve a chance to your own space after all this while!
