Daryll, Rei, Vi, and role play.

Okay, here's the scoop! We're looking to start a new roleplay session after many a year of silence. I'm guessing we all live pretty hectic lives either being in college or out of college and working, so I think the best way to go about even starting this would probably be on a message board. I don't think it's going to be anything that moves very fast most of the time, but it'll be a fun way to put in a couple of things and have a story develop as we go. We can all discuss more about that in the comments of this post.

This post is mainly here to show everyone what Daryll sent me, an idea of what we could use a story or a jumping board for the new RP. I'm going to post it here and then in the comments we can all talk about if we want to use these ideas, if we have other ideas, or if we want to use this one is there anything we'd like to change, add, etc.

So, let's get this ball rolling, here's the email copied into LJ:

"The Mythology

Amos Nexus: A non-intelligent, non-organic, random method of design-creation, destruction, fate, and circumstance. Responsible for all life, all events, and Located in the lost parts of the world, the Amos Nexus acts in two parts: The Amos, a creative pond of dark matter; and the central, hanging Nexus, a crystal-like object acting as a brain. This is God. The source of the Necromancer's powers.

Pravus: Those designed by the Nexus from the Amos inheritently born to protect the random design. Beings of great power who are among all creation. They are the messengers, the doers, of the Amos Nexus. The Nexus creates different Pravus, invisible, intangible to reality, to enact changes to realities.

Silenti, archaically called The Fated: The tangible form of the Pravus system called forth by Necromancers. Most have similar forms: humanoid shape with a mix of animalistic features (feeding instincts, survival adaptations). There are stronger uncommon forms, but are few between. Necromancers have few problems with control of the common form.

Necromancers: Humans with the natural or learned abilities to adapt and change the Amos Nexus' path. Known for their control and adaptation of the otherwise random Pravus. Necromancers and those aware of the culture know of the Amos Nexus, but outsiders remain ignorant -- aligning strange circumstances to miracles, monsters, and creed. Necromancers divide into two groups. There are those that support the old ways, anonymity and isolation, and those that seek to exploit their abilities for gain and main stream into contemporary culture. Most Necromancers have super-human abilities, usually excelling in one area over another.

The Burdened: A common legend among Necromancers. A time will come when the powers of the Amos Nexus will split into five fragments and given to five "untraditional" Necromancers. These powers act independently of the Nexus epicenter and act to counterbalance the immediate threat of The Undone. These Necromancers will have abilities outside of controlling Pravus.

The Undone: Another legend among Necromancers. Within the time of The Burdened, an "unlimited" Necromancer could form a symbiotic relationship with the Amos Nexus. The Undone would be completely immortal once called and would have the same power as the Nexus to change and create paths of destiny.

The Story

The World: Reality will depend on the history and culture of this world. The reality of our story will branch off from the moment we begin playing. The story will not depend on the future, only the past. All aspects of life, including the physical state of the Earth, will remain consistent with actual conditions, unless events in the story were to change those elements.

Or perhaps not.

Using this premise, we could really go anywhere.

My original story involved an organization finding The Burdened Necromancers and using them to stop potential Undones, potential threats to the world.

However, with our collective creativity, we could definitely generate a world, outside of our own. It would probably be more fun this way anyway."

From here, let's talk about a possible story. Do we want to use this setting? I think it could be really cool and have a lot of possibilities, personally, but want to make sure everyone is "feeling it."

Once we all talk about this, I'll get to work on starting up a domain again (like april-showers.com -- I'll need suggestions for a new name!), and I'll set up a new message board for us to use.

Discuss!
