I hope not--he's been doing this on and off for about two years. He was ill shortly after we got him and thought he was done for, then he perked right up, then he started doing this. I am wondering if it has something to do with his lack of balance or Ph?
I agree---it's just been doing this for quite awhile---i feel sort of bad about it---glad for the advise cause I was assuming my fish was odd ;) and it shows my ignorance
( ... )
The thing about swim bladder disease (from what I read)is that it never truly goes away (sometimes genetic) and the fish can live like this for a few years. :(
I knew it had a name but I simply couldn't remember. It has been years since we have had fish... not since our children were wee little things back in the early 80's. I do remember having a gold fish back then that did this same thing, and my SIL who is a vet assistant and also raises betas told us what was wrong with him. I honestly can't remember what we did do for him, but I believe he lived for three to four years.
