Some people really are most helpful...

It seems that I owe a debt of gratitude to mr_morden, who has given me invaluable aid in the task of adjusting my image; as seen by those who dare to look into the Orb. Now all can tremble before me in awe and reverence of my magnificence ( Read more... )

It looks splendid, I must say.

I thank you. *Dips his head in a nod of acknowledgement*

As it happens, there is a small delegation heading my way, bringing some tribute of... whiskey, I believe they call it. I am sure that one of your considerable means will have no difficulty in following the journey [I believe Diamond is keeping us all regularly updated in her journal glints_on_snow.]

I would like to extend my cordial invitation to your good self, and suggest that you keep an eye on their travels even if you do not have time to accompany them, as I am not sure how long it will take them to get here. I dwell rather apart.

I think you and I and trickster_loki could find much in common to discuss over a drink or two!

That is a most kind and generous invitation, my friend. I would be delighted to accept. Please let me know when and where, and I shall attend.

*Bows his head graciously*

As to the 'where', you must make your way to the north of Middle Earth in Arda; all you need do is follow the incessant chattering of the Elves! However, the 'when' is dependent on the good speed of mistress Diamond and her steadily increasing entourage. I shall be sure to let you know when they arrive, and give you more explicit directions to my lair.

what in Arda can be keeping that Hobbit with her present?

Last I heard, she was trying to find someone who'd had dealings with dragons before. Dunno why - might be so that she knows how not to offend you or something.

*shrugs*

And...I wouldn't try and hurt Bliss any more if I were you. Cupid's scary when he's angry.

*Laughs*

So am I, little girl..!

I think we all know to whom Diamond should be turning for information on dealing with dragons... I wonder if the little thief is here? But my advice to her would be to trust her own instincts. She has not offended me, but I will look ill upon the meddling of other mortals. You can tell her that, if you are her friend!

So am I, little girl

Not as scary as Cupid, I think.
*something inhuman dances in her eyes and a barely visible, golden shield surrounds her*

However, I'm not Diamond's friend. So - lack of me relaying info to her for you.

*Shakes his head contemptuously at the idea that anyone could find the God of Love scarier than the mightiest Dragon of Middle Earth*

*peers through the Dragon's orb*

Oh, we're currently in Rivendell. But we'll be there soon enough.

*Switches his tail in irritation*

Master Loki, I thought you were a god of trickery and cunning; is there no way you can speed up the progress of this little... entourage? My talons, but at this rate you will have stopped in every house from the western sea to the iron mountains! I hope this Cleve does not spoil along the way.

Oh it won't spoil, it gets better with age. *grin*

Don't worry. We're leaving as we speak...

Though she did mention something about stopping to see a Bear along the way. *sigh*

*Chuckles*

Ah well, if the Lord of Tricks and Chaos can be patient, I am sure I can wait yet awhile... But I hope she is not planning to visit all the woodland creatures from Rivendell to the Heath!

*Smaug stares contemptuously around, trying to locate the owner of the impertinent voice, and recalling the last time an invisible Presence entered his lair*

Come out of the shadows to give me your cookie, if you dare! *he growls, fully intending to devour whomever approaches*
