That's going to suck if that's true (re: hit detection). I know that the parrying system is gone, and that right there is a shame.
Ibuki is really the Chun-Li of SFIII. At least she was, before they added Chun-Li in Third Strike.
And yes, I spent a lot of time in arcades as a kid. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of times my father took me as a kid when we lived in Florida, where I'd play the long-since-forgotten Taito game Legend of Kage (now available on the Taito Arcade Collection 2 for PS2, which I will order just for that game).
There are a ton of good arcade/fighting game compilations out there for the PS2: The SNK Neo Geo classics (all the Fatal Fury/Samurai Showdown games), Street Fighter Alpha Collection (1, 2, and 3-- I'll get this soon even though I never got into SFA), the two Capcom Classics discs, and a host of others that I know I'm forgetting.
I should be able to get that XGaming stick in August or September, so I'll be hosting some old-school gaming nights soon.
