So, next week is my final film class and that means we're going to have our scenes taped and given to us so that we can send them to agents and the like. I have NO IDEA what to wear...I'm really self-critical of my photographed/recorded appearance and can't decide what on earth to wear. Does anyone have any suggestions, as in colours I look better ( Read more... )

I believe I remember you looking very nice in a pale-colored top (it wasn't pure white, but it was one of those cream/ivory/pastel colors), and I think that would look very nice on camera.

Hm. I had on white in my first test scene and thought I looked like ass. Then again, I also was pimply and frizzy-haired, and I plan on being neither of those next week.
*tries to think of which shirt that could have been...thinks she knows*

I'm so sorry. This is supposed to be my local-folks filter...teasing totally not intentional.

Something fitted but not tight (preferably in a knit) so that the camera can see those small shifts that are so very important, in a medium solid color (could be textured but not patterned). A dress or matching top and skirt is good so you won't be cut in half visually. Also, a bra that fits well and very small jewelery if you wear any at all.

Woo!

I was just thinking about you!

Thanks for the advice...*hugs*

Did you ever get a chance to lop off my black skirt?

If you're given the option, I'd change looks and Use the camera time to show that off. The peasant girl look ( something I've seen in you) is very different from something vampy in a corset ( another look I've seen in you). You have a very distinctive look and I'd not play that down but rather show how you can cameleon - if that's an option. You may not have the time.

That's what we look for when we see actor's tapes -- can they morph and change their looks, especially if they are very individualistic looking? Othersise, they tend to get more typecast.

No, this is going to be just one scene we're doing with a partner and there's nine pairs of us and limited class time, so no opportunity for anything that complex. Although, I'd like to take you up on your offer of adding something I've done for you to my tape as well, if that's okay. :-)

I'm certainly up for coming over and giving my opinion on different outfits, if you like - when are you free?

I wish I knew...I'm still waiting for the flaky boy who's my partner in class to let me know when he can rehearse. ARGH! I'll get back to you, k?
