so, at this point I have been awake and pretty damn active for about 24 hours. We got up at 2AM, on what is now yesterday morning, and Heather kindly drove us to the airport, after meeting us at 3AM ish at my house. We went through the TSA rigamaroll, and putzed about until our 6:30AM flight. THat arrived, a bit late at 8:50 in ATL. yay. SO

i wasnt worried about the neighborhood, it was pretty suburban, and for the most part seemed to be in very good shape. I had researched this a bit before we went, and the area in general is demographically 70% black, so to some degree I had anticipated the situation, but it seemed like even more than 70% when I was there. The only suspicious looking thing I saw there was at this one gas station/convenience store there was a very large group of mexican guys just standing around, like 50 or them. That was a little odd, but that's it. there were no abandoned cars, no boarded houses, none of the decay that probably would have been evident in a bad neighborhood, so I have no concerns.

well the apartment manager lady was real nice, and one of my neighbors will be a woman and her family who were moving in while I was there, and they were pretty nice, and there was another guys who rents office space there, and he was cool, so i think its good from that angle too. of course you never know 100% until you get there, but it looks good so far. I dunno about a take-your-friend-to-work day, but they have gaming sessions in the lunch room on weekends, and lots of non-staff people were there for it when i was there, so maybe there's that....
