i saw it up close just twice before now! once in romania & once in finland. i had my visions of snow as soft, fluffy cloud-like stuff shattered in transylvania when i had to walk hours through it in woefully inadequate shoes. it does snow in australia but. even pretty close to where i'm from in the mountains, i just never went up there in the winter. snow still feels super exotic.
I know how this feels! My first snow in Chicago when I was eighteen was magical. I went out into the street and stared up at the snowflakes, marveling. :D
