I know I know...everybody's heard that from me more than a few times....but this time I mean it. Check it. I don't have a gym anymore so I decided to start labour day off with some labour - North Toronto Collegiate is down the street and has a track (400m I think...) tantalizingly placed right in front of the school. I'll run with you in October... we'll do 10-and-1's... we can also head up Mt. Pleasant towards Lawrence, and then east. The competition'll keep us both going. ;) I did a run while camping, and it was pretty good. Like you, my legs are never satisfied, and then I just spend the rest of the day trying not to focus on the guilty ache in my upper body which wants desperately to go swimming.

Do you swim? I don't even remember.

swimming is more difficult than it needs to be as I am a chronic sinker. I don't know if it has anything to do with my ridiculous BMI, or if it's the added weight of my manhood but I know folks who can just tread water and carry on a conversation....if I try to do that I end up gurgling a lot.

What the fuck's a 10 and 1?

Intervals... 10 min run, 1 min walk. A good way to give your heart a break, without invalidating the difficulty/benefit of your workout. I'm doing and 8-and-1's now, mostly because I'm lazy and I stop the second it gets hard. ;) I'll get to 10-and-1's in a couple of weeks though. Intervals is the only way to learn to run (again), though.
