I'm late on this, but wooooow. There is some major drama going on in the indy wrestling community.
CINCINNATI -- An HIV-positive man charged after police said he had sex with another person, knowing he had the virus, is now facing more charges.
Andre Davis, 29, was originally charged with second-degree felonious assault.
Davis is accused of engaging in a sex act with another person on March 3.
During his arraignment Wednesday, prosecutors said Davis has known since 2009 that he was infected with HIV. They said there is an ongoing investigation into Davis' actions and that there may be more victims in other jurisdictions.
Prosecutors asked for a high bond and called Davis a "danger to the community."
Davis was given a $25,000 conditional bond and must wear an electronic monitoring device.
On Thursday, Davis was charged with three more counts of felonious assault after prosecutors said they had identified two more victims.
Prosecutors said additional charges are still possible. Officials have not said if any of the victims have tested positive for HIV.
Andre Davis wrestled for several independent wrestling feds under the name Andre Heart and reading this article is how they all found out he was HIV positive. He'd known for two years that he was positive, was cut from the WWE because of it, and still kept putting people at risk.
Indy wrestling is a sleazy business but this really illustrates the need for a testing program.
