Yep, the building will be 5-10 feet away from ours, so our windows--well, our boss's window, as nobody else has one--won't do us any good at all. Unless there's a window on the other building, and then we can hold up signs and communicate with the other people.
Ack. Let's not think about that horrible possibility. Would this be a single, small blessing of not having windows? Less chance of being hit by shattered glass? (My office is in the upper bowel of a really ugly, really sturdy concrete building, so I console myself that at least I'll be safe during a tornado.)
I used to work on the second floor. There was a ledge outside where every year they put up the Christmas decorations with a crane. Nothing like looking up and suddenly seeing a huge Santa peering curiously back at you...
No, I told him that I wanted our building to stop shaking, but that it didn't look like either one of us was going to get what we wanted. :D

Which might be fun, actually.

He saw me watching and hollered, "Hi there, I'd like a Big Mac and fries, please!"
He's done this kind of work before, I think.

I certainly hope so! Makes me nervous, having all this heavy steel stuff just literally feet away from me. What happens if something breaks loose?

Although I have to say, scaffolding's much more fun - I had them walking around outside my office for a while and I'm on the second floor!
Did you ask him if he wanted a coke too? *is not helping*
