The thing about having someone close to you die when you're fairly young is that from then on out, it feels like someone is always dying. I dont know - I guess I just didn't expect to be dealing with death really close to me until I was in my 40s. I have an entry coming up about sports and why I love them so much. It's been brewing for a few weeks. I feel like I write something just about every year around this time, but I've come to some realizations that go deeper than just liking sports.

The best basketball game EVER played.
I have watched this scene so many times and I cannot stop laughing. Kudos, The L Word. I mean, I'm impressed with the casting they did. How on earth did they find so many unathletic women to play basketball? Brilliant. Especially if they're supposed to be lesbians. C'mon now.

I have to say I'm excited as all git out about the season premiere of The L Word on Sunday. As frustrated as I get with the complete goofiness of the show, I am SO ready for some hot lady lovin' on my TV. Especially Jennifer Beals as Bette. I almost can't deal.

For the past few years we've spent New Year's Eve at keypike's PJ party, but, disappointingly, work kept us from being able to do that this year. So, we spent tonight in front of the TV playing The Sims 2 on XBox before turning to Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Oh, Dick Clark.
