So with the help of Tony and Amazon.com, I was able to get the Kitchen Aid 6 quart professional mixer (list price $500) for only $70!!!! Doing a happy dance. I have a REAL mixer now!!!! No more of this hand mixer crap that can't take a double batch of cookies. Nope, I will soon be getting the real thing. With a real motor. that can handle up to 14 ( Read more... )

Great deal! congrats. But just a note on the 6 quart. - Being that I am on my second one. I LOVE my KA. But sincerely, your bowl might hold the 14 cups of flour, but even the splash/overflow guard does NOT stop the spray out if you actually turn ON the mixer with 14 cups of flour in the bowl. The most I have ever been able to effectively work with in my 6Q mixer at one time is 10.5 cups. That said, I have never had an attachment that did not work the way they said it should. I have never had a problem with the motor (The only reason I am on the second is that I left my first one behind with my first exhusband.). Never had any issues whatsoever. Even at $500 its worth it for the amount I have used mine. (I got mine at a steal too though thankfully - $225 at a clearance outlet and it came with the meat grinder, pasta roller, an additional bowl, two lids for the bowls, and an additional 6 paddle, whisk, hook attachments. - I love a deal!) Paying $70 is FANTASTIC! I know you shall love it more than the moon!

OMG! You're gonna LOVE it! How on earth did you get it so cheap, though?!?! Oh, and the 6qt professional is the only one that has enough motor to actually handle yeast breads - so go to! Have a ball and let me know what you make!

Amazon had this thing where you could be put in a random drawing to be selected to be able to be in a race to buy the mixer for only $70. Luckily Tony got picked and he let me use his account to do it in. Although I had bought a 4 1/2 quart on Black Friday for only $130, which is a pretty good deal as well. So I am going to either have dad or Neal but it off me for their respective womenfolk. (And since Neal tried to buy his live-in girlfriend, Amy, a honest-to-god frying pan last Christmas! Which I did not let him. I think a mixer would be nicer than that)

It depends. Did she ask for the frying pan? Cause if she did, that's a whole different story. I got a toilet plunger last christmas cause I asked for stuff for an apartment and my brother has a sick sense of humor :)

LOL, nice. Of course your brother did. Although Amy did NOT ask for a frying pan :)
