Chapter Eighteen
“Sweet cheeks wake up!” You can feel the smile on Jin’s face as he called out to Kame using that sweet, gentle and melodic voice.
Truth be told, it felt like angels were singing to him whenever Jin talked. Of course, Kame wouldn’t admit that out loud, but that is what he feels whenever Jin talks and sings.
Now, it’s a different story whenever he dances on the stage as sings those English songs that had “whore”, “cum” and goodness knows what else, while moving his hips into the beat of those songs.
Kame smiled and burrowed deeper into the comforters.
“Kame, sweetheart? The babies are here already. You said you wanted to see them, right?” Jin lightly said to Kame and then cooed after.
Kame got into his senses and realized he fell asleep. He slowly opened his eyes and saw Jin holding one of their newborn babies in his arms, lightly dancing and tenderly rocking the baby wearing a blue robe.
That image was just precious. Kame smiled and cleared his throat to catch Jin’s attention.
Jin’s attention transferred to the now smiling, but still bedridden, Kame. “You’re finally awake~” he said with a smile.
“Yeah...” Kame held his arms up and Jin got the clue to transfer the baby into Kame’s arms.
“Aww~” Kame couldn’t help but make cooing noises at the baby. “Who is this big guy?” he placed a light kiss on the baby’s forehead.
“It’s our first born -- a boy.” Jin grabbed a stool and sat beside the hospital bed. “He’s beautiful, is he not?”
Kame nodded. He didn’t know why but his nose suddenly got runny and his gaze turned hazy. He blinked lightly as an effort to clear his gaze but noticed tears flowing out of his eyes. He sniffled.
Jin smiled. Kame is as in touch with his feminine side more than ever -- pregnant or not. He reached out and petted his partner’s head. “Why are you crying?”
“I don’t know!” Kame gave in to his emotions and cried as he carefully embraced the baby against his chest. “Why am I crying? No matter how I try, my tears won’t stop.” Kame then raised the baby up into the air. “He got your chin, Jin.” Kame observed.
Jin smiled. It was the same remark Ryo said after the nurses showed the triplets to Jin before proceeding to clean them up.
After realizing that he rhymed, Kame let out a laugh. “Chin-Jin!” Another laughing fit ensued. As if to mock Jin, the baby started gurgling too.
Jin shook his head, entertained at the way Kame was acting.
When Kame was done laughing, he turned to Jin with a serious look on his face. “What’s his name?”
Jin twiddled his thumbs. Better now than never. Kame has the right to know. “Baby Boy Akanishi #1.” He was half expecting Kame to blow a fuse after hearing the Akanishi part of the baby’s temporary name.
Kame turned to the baby on his arms with a smile. “Hmm that is not a very flattering name, now am I right, my baby boy?”
“Are you not-- angry? He’s named Baby Boy Akanishi and not Baby Boy Kamenashi.” Jin suddenly pointed out.
Kame lightly ran his index finger against the boy’s cheek. “No. I did say you get to decide what surname they take.” He turned to Jin with a serious look on his face. “Are you saying you don’t want them to take your name?”
“No-- it’s just that…” Jin sighed. “You know that’s not the case.”
Kame sighed. “Look, it doesn’t really matter if they put me as their mother. After all, I did carry them for 23 weeks.” He cleared his throat. “Not unless of course if you want to be named the mother, I really don’t have any issues with that.” He said with a smile.
Jin laughed. That went amazingly well. “Okay. Just so we’re both cool with it, you know?”
Kame giggled. “Okay, know that that’s settled, what are we going to name him?”
“What about Haruki?” Jin suggested. “Haruki[1]? After all, we want our first born to shine and excel in anything that he does.” He sat on the bed next to Kame, gazing at the fragile little boy on Kame’s arms.
Kame smiled. “That works.” He cooed to the baby. “From now on, you’re no longer Baby Boy #1, but Akanishi Haruki. How does that sound, sweetheart?”
The baby just gurgled and waved his arms excitedly. After which, he yawned.
“Oh, he’s already tired?” Kame said, pouting a little. “And I only got to hold you, you--” He tried to look for words. “Sweet little angel?!” He said with such dramatics.
Jin grinned.
Kame glared. “Are you laughing at me?”
‘Uh oh. Another mood swing?’ Jin wondered. He decided to tread very carefully around the matter. “Er... no?”
Kame nodded, looking satisfied. “Good.” He passed the baby over to Jin. “Get him back to the crib and let him rest.” His eyes suddenly begging. “Our second baby please?”
Jin carefully laid Haruki on supine position back to his own little crib. After which, he picked up another baby wrapped in, again, a blue baby robe. He sad on the bed next to the eager looking Kame and passed the baby to the younger man. “Here’s our second baby boy. He’s identical twins with Haruki.”
“Oh he’s beautiful too.” Kame carefully placed a kiss the baby’s forehead. “Minoru[2]. I want to name him Akanishi Minoru, Jin.”
The smaller man declared it so suddenly that it left the taller of the two taken aback at the choice of name. “Why... Minoru?”
“Because... if it wasn’t... for me getting pregnant... the truth about me being... in love with you would have not come out. I would never have the courage to say it in your face because I was... I didn’t know if you felt the same way about me. So Minoru... that’s why I want to name him that.” Kame stuttered a lot during his confession.
Jin kissed Kame on the cheek. “You don’t have to worry anything about me. I love you and now that we already have kids together, you can bet your ass that I will never, ever, stray away from you.” This time, he kissed his partner on the lips.
The type of kiss that makes you weak in the knees and if you weren’t leaning against your partner, it would cause you to fall flat on your ass. Of course, the latter didn’t apply to Kame since he IS on bed rest.
Minoru, trapped carefully in between both men, suddenly gave out a little cry that startled both his parents.
“What’s wrong, sport?” Jin whispered and the baby yawned as his answer.
“Here, take him back to his crib?” Kame whispered in Jin’s ears as he handed the baby back. “Babies get easily tired, huh?” he commented, his eyes shinning so wonderfully again. “And please, please~ our baby girl? I want to see her.”
After making sure that Minoru was carefully laid on his back, Jin went to get their youngest offspring. Their little baby girl.
“Oh... she is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen!” Kame was clearly hyped. “I want to name her A--”
“Akemi?[3]” Jin smiled.
“How did you know?”
“I just know your trail of thought. It’s perfect for her.” Jin gestured at Akemi. “After all, she is breathtakingly beautiful.”
The two new fathers gazed adoringly at their babies sleeping on their respective cots. Highly content and happy now that they have what they can call...
Their very own family.
... The end? ...

A/N: Thank you for staying with me for one year and 9 months for this series. Whether you’ve been here with me from the start or a new reader... thank you.
So... is it really the end for this series? *secretive smile* There are still some loose ends I want to tie and clean up for this series... *giggles* But don’t you think it’s better to end it this way? (^_~)v
Kidding aside, is it really the end? I, myself, don’t know. For once you become a parent, it will never end, right? *winks* Please look forward to reading the spin-offs of the CoBL universe entitled
Consequences of Being a Parent and Consequences of Being a Babysitter.
Please comment. I don’t think I can stress that enough. Humor this crazy woman, who calls herself a fanfic writer, with your comments and inputs. It’s the end of the series, damn it! I think it’s only about time that silent readers leave a comment. *winks* I hope I didn’t offend or scare you away. I don’t bite so I really don’t get why people don’t leave comments on an author’s fic entry. It’s downright rude and inconsiderate. Of course, if you’re a silent reader, more often than not, you don’t read author’s note so... I don’t think you even got to this point. *sigh*
With that being said, comments are appreciated and treasured. Please leave one? ♥ *huggles everyone who bothered to leave a comment or two*
