Yay for the weekend
Well it seems as though three days back to work tired my ass out. I slept for three hours when I got home Friday. I slept for four on Thursday afternoon. I didn't run into Chad at work, thank goodness - I think he's in school. I did make plans for Saturday night with some friends though. Beer and darts at a dive bar called Alibis. The end of a holiday
I have to go back to work tomorrow. Not really looking forward to it. The ship is in the yard downtown, and I have no idea how to get there. Wish me luck driving all over downtown at 5:30 in the morning and finding the parking lot where I'm supposed to leave my car, overnight. Of course my first day back is my duty day. Hi there!
So I had a great time tonight. This was the third night in a row that I went to Gators. A good friend of mine from Bahrain came in tonight. So of course we went to the bar and got trashed. So now I'm home and I'm headed to bed. I should sleep pretty damn good tonight. Or today. Whatever. -

So I ran into one of Chad's roomies (who obviously doesn't know about him and I) and she told me something interesting. What is this thing they call land?
You know, I have been onboard the ship for less than three months and this is already my third underway. And the ship just completed a six-month deployment from January-July! Kind of crazy, but that's the way the Navy is now, I guess. We already have a seven-month deployment scheduled for next fall. And guess where we're going to - back to ( Read more... ) -
Underway again, I just can't wait to get underway again
So we're going underway with a couple of port visits. To be honest, I've forgotten how to pack for it. I've got a bunch of uniforms in the wash right now so I'll have enough for 15 days. Things have been nuts since I arrived on the ship. Other than the very first week I wrote about, it's been smooth sailing.
