My brother in Yorkshire has sorted Christmas! Glad someones on the ball.

This has been my jolt into reality....How could I forget that its going to be a 'full house'. I've not been on Christmas mode but suppose now I'd better get my butt in gear. The turkey has been ordered (phew). We need to get a real tree (why?).  Boxing Day is planned as well - ( Read more... )

When do you have Boxing Day?
Real tree? Why? I'm also asking.

Boxing Day is the 26th December - not all countries observe it and the true meaning of it has been lost over time - now it seems to be the day when the 'sales' start!

Glad you ask Why? too. We have never had a real Christmas tree in the house...just our little fake one which I love decorating in baubles and tinsel. I don't want a real Christmas tree and there's no space - I can't deal with picking up pine needles. I have to try to talk my brother out of this. But he could be joking with me.

The bad is that you must get rid of the real tree and the sad is that they sell them and the forests run out of trees the last decade.
Thanks, it's made by apieceofcake

got a bit of a surprise when I saw the date today. And then "Happy Xmas (War is Over") by John and Yoko came on the telly! Best Christmas song ever :)

A real tree? They look good and smell nice, but it takes forever to get all those pine needles off the floor... :/

I'm just waiting for 'Last Christmas' by Wham! to be shown, then I'll know that the time is upon me to put tinsel on everthing that isn't portable.

Have worked out where to put a tree... but still have my reservations about getting one. At least I won't be picking needles out of carpet, got wooden type flooring down. Still its endless sweeping up isn't it?
